Community Involvement

Luhrsen Law Group proudly supports area organizations seeking to make our community better.  The firm's attorneys and staff have lent their time and talent to a variety of non-profit groups.  Among them are Forty Carrots Family Center, a local agency dedicated to strengthening young families with educational programming for parents, children and professionals; the work of the Mark Wandall Foundation to stop red light running; and MADD-Florida devoted to protecting families from drunk driving and underage drinking.

Attorney Jeffrey Luhrsen also works to protect the rights of Florida consumers generally.  He served on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers (now the Florida Justice Association) from 2001-2006, chaired its Automobile Insurance Committee from 2003-2006,  and currently is a Fellow of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers.  He was recognized for his work with the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyer’s “Shoe Leather” Award for outstanding contributions to civil justice agenda (2002 & 2006), its “Tiger in the Bush” award (2005) and its Excellence in Strategic Planning Award (2006).

Jeffrey Luhrsen works to improve his community through a variety of organizations. He served as the Chair of Public Policy from 2006-2007 for the Florida chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, served on the Sales Tax Accountability Committee of the Manatee County School Board from 2006-2007, and was a member of the Technical Advisory Committee on DUI Enforcement and Prosecution in 2007. Currently, Jeffrey Luhrsen serves as a lifetime member of Florida Highway Patrol Advisory Board, as a lector for the Saint Patrick's Roman Catholic Church and on its Social Justice Committee.  He also coaches youth football and has been a Faith Formation teacher.

Attorney Julie Luhrsen has also volunteered extensively in her community.  For over 10 years, she has supported Forty Carrots Family Center programming that helps parents, especially at-risk parents, raise stronger children.  Since 2006, she has served on the Board of Trustees of Forty Carrots Family Center.  She is also an avid volunteer for her children’s school, the Out-of-Door Academy, and recently joined the school’s Board of Trustees.
