Falsifying Credentials
As patients, we trust that doctors always have our best interests at heart – and in most cases, we’re right. The vast majority of medical professionals are serious about the oath they’ve taken to live up to the high standards set by medical ethics.
Unfortunately, some individuals will falsify their medical credentials, allowing them to perform complex medical procedures without the training and certification that ensures they are capable of doing so. In fact, certificate mills exist that will produce fake credentials for people who do not have any medical training, or who have expired state certification. Emergency medical technicians and paramedics are two of the most common positions that unwittingly employ uncertified medical personnel.
Patients who have suffered serious injury at the hands of these fraudulent physicians have the right to pursue justice and compensation for this blatant form of medical malpractice. Fraud is a criminal act that should be aggressively prosecuted.
