For me, it’s about helping individuals. It’s about looking out for each other.  It’s about leveling the playing field.   For over 15 years, I’ve been helping, looking out for and leveling the playing field for personal injury victims and their families in Florida.  “Serving to Protect” is what we are about at Luhrsen Law Group and I’d be honored to talk with you about the injury you (or your loved one) have suffered because of someone else’s carelessness, negligence or wrongdoing. Please contact me today to set up a confidential, no cost conversation.

More About My Educational Background and My Military Service

Though Florida has long been my home, like many, I migrated to Florida from elsewhere. Raised in Virginia, I went to college in the midwest and then returned to Virginia afterwards.  Before jumping headlong into law school, I tried my hand at the law by working as a litigation paralegal in Richmond.  I caught the bug.  Three years later, I graduated with honors from law school.  During law school, I worked hard and benefitted from merit scholarships as well as academic and book awards.  I also got the opportunity to work as a teaching assistant and faculty research assistant.  My best experience was working as an intern with the Virginia Poverty Law Center.

Following law school, I was drawn to the Army JAG Corps for the quick opportunities to litigate cases it offered but also the chance to try new things in new places.  My military travels ended up taking me only as far as nearby North Carolina, but I did spend the majority of my first five years litigating cases as a prosecutor with the XVIII Airborne Corps and then as defense attorney at the 82d Airborne Division. For thrills (and hazardous duty pay), I also regularly jumped out of planes.  I spent two more years on staff at the Army’s JAG School before leaving active duty. Among the many military awards I received, I am most proud of the American Bar Association’s 1993 Legal Assistance Distinguished Service Award which I received for the work I did in support of post-Hurricane Andrew relief efforts.

My days on active duty really instilled a strong desire to serve and help.  So, migrating from the military to the practice of personal injury law was a natural progression for me.  In 1998, I left active duty and with with my husband, Jeff Luhrsen, and moved to Florida and went into private practice.  With the exception of several well-spent years staying at home when my kids were young, Jeff and I and our team have put our collective talents to work serving the injured.  Entrusting us with your case is a privilege we take seriously and we’d be honored to hear from you.

My Community Involvement

Outside the office, I spend time volunteering locally. Like many parents, I enjoy volunteering in my children’s schools. For years, I volunteered extensively on behalf of Forty Carrots Family Center, a Sarasota non-profit that helps strengthen families from all walks of life be the best parents possible. I am also a board member at my children’s school, The Out-of-Door Academy and supporter of a variety local non-profits.

The best part of my days are spent with my family. If I can help you and your family recapture what has been lost due to injury or if you would like to share your story with me, please contact me at Luhrsen Law Group today for a free personal injury consultation. Luhrsen Law Group is a family-owned accident law practice that welcomes injured clients in Sarasota, Bradenton, and communities throughout Florida.
